What's covered in a repair callout
A repair starts with a diagnostic — flue analysis, electrical continuity, gas pressure, water pressure, control logic — and ends with the boiler firing on demand for hot water and central heating, with the recommissioning cert emailed before we leave the door.
- Full fault diagnosis with manufacturer-grade test kit
- Common parts swapped in the same visit: diverter valve, expansion vessel, PCB, pressure sensor, igniter, fan, thermistor
- Gas leak detection and isolation if needed
- System repressurisation and thermostat re-binding
- Twelve-month workmanship guarantee on parts and labour fitted by us
- Receipt and conformance paperwork by email the same day
Signs you actually need a repair, not a service
Boilers signal trouble in fairly predictable ways. Anything from the list below is worth a phone call rather than waiting for the annual.
- Pressure dropping below 1 bar within days of repressurising
- F-code or fault light on the display (especially F22 / F75 / F1 on Vaillant; A01 / F23 on Worcester)
- Hot water works, central heating doesn't (often the diverter valve)
- Boiler lights then locks out within 60 seconds (usually the flame sensor or fan)
- Loud kettling, banging or clicking noises (limescale or sludge build-up)
- Pilot keeps going out on older heat-only models
What it costs
The diagnostic visit is €75 on a weekday, credited in full against any repair carried out on the day. Once the fault is identified we issue a fixed written quote on the tablet — you decide before any spanner comes out.
- Diagnostic visit (weekday): €75 — credited against same-day repair
- Standard repair labour: €95 first hour, €60 per half hour after
- Common parts in the van — diverter valve from €120, expansion vessel from €95, PCB from €240, ignition lead from €40
- Emergency rate (evening / weekend): €140 callout
Brands we service
We carry parts and software for every major brand sold in Ireland. If yours isn't listed below it almost certainly still uses parts from one of the OEMs we stock.

- Vaillant — ecoTEC plus, ecoTEC pro, ecoFIT pure
- Ideal — Logic+, Vogue, Mexico
- Baxi — 800, 600, EcoBlue, Platinum
- Firebird — Enviromax, Envirogreen (oil-fired models too)
- Glow-worm, Ariston, Grant Vortex
Power flushing — when the radiators are the real problem
Half the "boiler" complaints we look at every year aren't actually a boiler fault — the system is silted up, the magnetic filter has been ignored for a decade, and the boiler is running hot because the return water is cold sludge. A magnetic power flush plus inhibitor restores flow, rebalances the radiators and usually buys you another six winters before anything else needs touching.
Standard residential power flush: €395 for up to 8 radiators, plus €35 per additional radiator. Includes Sentinel X400 cleanser, post-flush X100 inhibitor, magnetic filter check and rebalance.
